I wavered between 2 and 3 stars...somewhere between it was 'Ok' and 'I liked it'. I see the potential for a great series but found it hard to get into the story until about halfway. I kept having the feeling that this wasn't the first book in the series and there was a lot of stuff I had missed. There was one thing I really didn't like and that was hints of 'Anita Blakeism'. I loved LK Hamilton's series for the first several books then Anita Blake morphed from this sexually conflicted 'chaste' heroine into someone who was forced, by factors beyond her control, to boink everything that moved. Yuck. Cassie Palmer came across that way near the end of the book and I may check out the next in the series but if there is more of that nonsense I'll have to abandon it.
