5/5; 5 stars; A+I recently re-read the Kate Daniels series while waiting for this little treasure to arrive in the mail. It wasn't really necessary because this book can stand on its own but it definitely added to the enjoyment for me. This book had some new developments in the paranormal wonders of post-shift Atlanta. It also included lots of the trademark humour that I enjoy in the other books by these authors. The romance story line with Raphael and Andrea was well done. In conjunction with the unfolding of Andrea's secrets from her horrible childhood, the love story was particularly sweet. At the end of the book was a novella, Magic Dreams. I had read Magic Dreams a few months ago but it was fun to re-read it in the context of of Gunmetal Magic. The stories weave together nicely.
