3.5/5; 4 stars/ B+Although I didn't enjoy this book as much as Mercy Blade, it was still a great story. I appreciate more and more the continuing revelations from Jane's distant past. It might be a good idea to read the short story about Cats, Cat Tales, before reading this one if the reader wants to really understand Rick's tattoos. Its not critical but I was glad to have an understanding of that history. One thing that weakened this book, IMO was the overbearing use of guilt! Jane takes on such a victim mentality when it comes to dealing everybody else's bad opinion of her. I just couldn't get behind her being to blame for everything that went wrong; the demented werewolves, the killings, putting Molly in danger, putting Leo in danger. Enough already! I'd say I knocked a whole star off my rating just for that...it was way too much. Otherwise, I'm a huge fan of this series and look forward to the next one.
