3.5/5; 4 stars; B+This is the first book I've read by Jill Sorenson and it won't be the last. I enjoyed the story, the pacing and the mystery. Some elements of the romance were a bit cliche. However, the setting and 'culture' she described more than made up for it. I think the author did a first rate job of showing how people get trapped in the world of crime. The despair of the character Eric really came across and I found it kind of heartbreaking to see how many people born into that circumstance have virtually no chance of getting free.
