4/5 4 Stars B+This is the first book I've read by this author and it won't be the last. For a short novel with lots of emotional punch, you can't go wrong with this book. I don't get how anyone could live in a long term 24/7 D/s relationship and this book highlights what my gut tells me are the weaknesses of that kind of relationship. That is, the sub either withers away from lack of recognition as a complete functional person or becomes so weak and dependent they disappear. I struggle to believe that a person in the D role could be sustained by that either. I'd say this book explores that in the process of telling the story of Gaby and Cal. Very well done.
