Deanna Raybourn writes a solid mystery story. I enjoyed that aspect of the book quite a bit, as well as continued glimpses of some of her colourful friends and family. However, I was left with a feeling of disquiet with respect to Julia and Nicholas. There is a lot of potential there for a friendship, working relationship and even love relationship but throughout the book they each took turns behaving like jerks towards each other. I got a bit tired of it.
